Summer Associate Program

Morris Pickering & Peterson's summer program is designed to introduce its summer associates to the firm's lawyers and various practice areas. Our goal is to combine challenging legal assignments with a variety of social activities in order to provide our summer associates with a realistic sense of what it is like to practice law at the firm.

Like regular associates, summer associates receive assignments from an assignment coordinator. One lawyer at the firm serves as the summer associate assignment coordinator and ensures that each of the summer associates has the opportunity to work on challenging assignments and is exposed to as many of the firm's practice areas as possible. Summer associates also are given the opportunity to attend hearings, depositions, trials, mediations, and other events in which Morris Pickering & Sanner attorneys participate. Similar to the training provided to junior associates, summer associates receive training from the firm's lawyers on taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and examining witnesses.

Summer associates receive extensive feedback, including performance reviews at mid-summer and summer's end. Offers of permanent employment are extended shortly after the end of the summer program to those associates who demonstrated both personal and professional excellence.
